Dr. Enrico Robotti served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery in Bergamo, Italy, from 1997 to 2017. Since transitioning to private practice, he dedicated his expertise exclusively to rhinoplasty, with a world-renowned focus on complex revision cases involving rib grafting.

Dr. Robotti is Past President of the Italian Society of Plastic Surgery and Founding Member and Past President of The Rhinoplasty Society of Europe. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Universities of Rome and Milan and as ISAPS International Visiting Professor.

Curriculum vitae
Following Board qualifications in General Surgery and in Plastic Surgery, Military Service as Navy Surgeon and three subsequent years of Plastic Surgery Fellowship in the United States, Enrico Robotti became Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery of the “Ospedali Riuniti” (now “Papa Giovanni XXIII”) in Bergamo, Italy, since 1997, at age 38. With over 9000 cases, he has been very active in general reconstructive plastic surgery, with emphasis on flap reconstruction in the head&neck region, extremities, and trunk, including microsurgery. In private practice, he was involved in cosmetic surgery, with predominant focus on rhinoseptoplasty.
Since 2007, Dr Robotti decided to exclusively concentrate, in private practice, on the field of rhinoseptoplasty, combining an intensive clinical activity with scientific and teaching commitments. He pioneered and perfectioned numerous techniques in primary rhinoplasty, specifically with a “hybrid” approach combining “structural” with “preservation” concepts. He also specifically focused on complex revision cases, where he developed specific techniques for finesse reconstruction with rib grafting, with a vast caseload involving an increasing number of international patients.
Dr Robotti has authored or co-authored a large number of papers, and book chapters. He has been chairman, moderator, panelist or invited speaker at several hundred national and international meetings. In many of those, he has performed live surgery demonstrations. He has also authored several live surgery DVDs on the topic of rhinoseptoplasty. During his service as Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery, he organized 18 live-surgery meetings, hosting renowned international surgeons at the “Ospedali Riuniti” in Bergamo. He also established the “Bergamo Advanced Minifellowship in Revision Rhinoseptoplasty”.
He founded and directed the “First Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course” in Bergamo in 2008, an international biennial intensive course specifically devoted to open rhinoplasty. Subsequent expanded editions of the course followed in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022. The last two editions , with over 600 participants from 64 countries, established the “Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course” as one of the foremost rhinoplasty symposia in the world.
Since October 2017, Dr Robotti has regularly been running several personal Live Surgery Courses, in a “One-to-One” educational format regarding primary and secondary rhinoplasty.
Dr Robotti is regularly invited for lectures and live surgery in the major symposia regarding rhinoplasty worldwide.
Dr Robotti is an Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery teaching Residents in Plastic Surgery on the topic of Rhinoseptoplasty at the University of Rome and Milano, as well as a member of ASPS, ISAPS, ICOPLAST, EAFPS, EURAPS and SICPRE.
He has been President of SICPRE (the Italian Society of Plastic Surgery) for the years 2012-2013 and has organized the National meeting of the Society in 2014. Dr Robotti is an ISAPS International Visiting Professor since 2013. He is Reviewer for “Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery”, “Aesthetic Plastic Surgery” and “Facial Plastic Surgery” regarding the topic of Rhinoseptoplasty. He is founding member and Past-President (2019-2022) of the “Rhinoplasty Society of Europe”, currently the largest international Rhinoplasty Society with over 900 members worldwide.

A Legacy of Humanitarian Missions in Gaza and West Bank
Dr. Robotti headed many missions in the Middle East over the last 20 years with specialized surgical teams from The Ospedali Riuniti di Bergamo under the aegis of PCRF (Palestine Children Relief Fund). PCRF is a US-based non-profit organization providing free medical care, humanitarian aid, and specialized surgery to injured children in the Middle East, regardless of nationality, religion, or politics. Hundreds of reconstructive surgeries were performed, including trauma and burn sequelae, skin cancers, pressure sores and congenital malformations.
